• Khaled’s story.. An update

Months ago we wrote about Khaled and his difficult situation: ”When the conflict started in 2011 in Syria ‘’Khaled’’ left his home country in order to work in voluntary aid organisations. When the conflict became bloodier and deadlier ‘’Khaled’’ feared for his life and fled to the nearest country, Turkey. ‘’Khaled’’ tried contacting the relevant embassy but received no response at all. Right2Return and ‘’Khaled’’ were then informed through his family members that ‘’Khaled’’ was accused of so-called ‘’terrorist financing’’ and that ‘’Khaled’s’’ aid was sent to people Western governments would label as ‘’terrorists’’ (!!!). We, together with ‘’Khaled’’, find this absurd. ‘’Khaled’’ had one intention: to help his poor…

  • REMINDER ON INJUSTICE!

It is still happening! Even though years have passed since the war happened in Syria then the injustice practiced by Western governments is still taking place. We emphasize that citizenship deprivation is still happening and our Muslim brothers and sisters are still stranded in Turkey and Syria. We are doing our best in providing mental health care, family support, education, help to restore family ties, education, and help to find housing and work. • Stories and Helpline!

Al Salam Alaykum, Right2Return advocates for those wrongfully or unjustly targeted as a result of the growing securitisation. This means men, women and children from the Muslim community who have been deprived of their citizenship, and have been denied entry to their homeland, and those from the Muslim community who are stranded abroad and scared of going back to their homeland because of the pronounced racism and discrimination. We are shedding the lights on these challenges through our brothers’ and sisters’ struggles and stories, and also remember: our Helpline is ready to assist those in need. • Unbelievable situation for working with medical aid…

After finishing his medical related degree in a European university ‘’Mohammad’’ travelled to Idlib years ago in order to support the poor and helpless people there. It was going well and he was active in several aid and relief organizations providing medical aid for the war torn people in Idlib and around it. However, when ‘’Mohammad’’ tried to fly back to his birth country, but he was denied entry and was rejected in a strict and disrespectful way. ‘’Mohammad’’ was in shock and felt lost that he suddenly could not return for simply utilizing his skills. Right2Return is currently supporting ‘’Mohammad’’ to have a place to stay in Turkey while…

  • Ahmad’s story

Like many others ”Ahmad” travelled to Syria with his brother in order to provide aid for the citizens of this country. During ”Ahmad’s” stay, his brother lost his life and ”Ahmad” was deemed unwelcome by the authorities in his own country, even though ”Ahmad” did not commit any crime by travelling and has not been sentenced in a court of law. ”Ahmad” has managed to get out of the warzone and relocated himself to Türkiye. However, ”Ahmad” does not have the sufficient legal documents to stay in Türkiye and obtain a proper working permit. The embassy of ”Ahmad’s” country does nothing to help him despite several desperate phone calls and…

  • The REAL scandal!

The Guardian has posted a letter about the scandalous and unjust treatment in these citizenship cases! It states ”As a result of the home secretary’s decision, she is stuck in a camp in Syria, with no citizenship anywhere and no prospect of one. Children who make a terrible mistake are surely redeemable. But statelessness is for ever” The letter: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/feb/26/the-real-scandal-of-the-shamima-begum-citizenship-case

  • A recent case..

”Um Hamza” was left on her own with her children after she lost her husband. She is currently stranded in a war-torn country, and due to legal issues she cannot travel to her European birth country, or seek help from its representatives. ”Um Hamza” is left to fend for herself and her children without any family or friends to rely on. Right2Return managed to provide some immediate relief for ”Um Hamza” and secured her a job, so she can provide for her children, all while her case is being handled in order to secure her return to her country and her family.

  • Dear Followers!

Dear followers We know things have been quiet on our webpage, but we’re still around. The mission we initially set out to achieve remains relevant and we still dedicate as much of our time as possible to realize our ambitions. We are therefore happy to announce that we’ve managed to connect with experienced humanitarian workers and all-round do-gooders in Syria and Turkey. In a world where basic necessities often are an even more scarce resource than legal counsel, R2R and our contributors continue to strive to bring relief and rehabilitation to those affected by the excessive and unjust policies of Western governments, one step at a time. • My story…

  • Families for Repatriation International

Western governments are facing growing pressure to repatriate their own nationals held in dangerous and overcrowded camps and prisons in northeastern Syria. The dire and life-threatening conditions men, women and children are living under in the camps and prisons have sparked anger and grief in families of these people and a network has emerged; Families for Repatriation International (FRI). The network brings together family members of foreign nationals held in Syria and is being backed by human rights organisations and lawyers involved in legal cases on behalf of those in detention. We are thrilled to hear about the network and hope they will succeed. You can read much more about…

  • Je ne comprends pas

Merci beaucoup.

  • Revocation of my citizenship?

I really don’t know where to start, ok! I mean, the kuffar injustice when it comes to rights. Okay I know some would call me violent, short sighted, blunt, whatever. I don’t care. I did what I did. I did it for Allah SWT, and He knows best. But I grew up in UK. I worked shitty jobs. All these jobs, these fancy posh lords never would or could do. I worked in UK and now UK punishes me, like I am some one you can just wash out. Like I am dirt. Hey I want to come back to my family, my wife needs medication. My children are sick.…

  • For 3 years…

For 3 years my loving husband has not been allowed to travel back to the Netherlands even though he is badly injured. No politicians want to help him. How can helping Muslim children be a crime in the eye of politicians in Europe countries? Alhamdulillah we can now get help from a lawyer and legal counselling and with the help of Allah SWT bring my husband back here with his family. Thank you Mouna with all of my heart. You will be in my prayers. – Umm Somaya

  • Please!

My daughter travelled to Syria June 2014. From what me and her father have been her and her friends’ plan was to study there. We had no suspicion what so ever that she intended to participate in IS activities. Sarah then contacted us mid-August 2019. She told us that she had given birth to a baby girl and she sent us some photos of her. That was how we found out that she had been married. We don’t know the father of the child. Sarah seemed depressed and filled with anxiety. And we got the clear impression that she was unhappy and afraid to stay in Syria and for what…
