ABOUT

Right2Return is an independent grass-roots organisation founded in the summer 2019 in the wake of the last year’s many changes to citizenship deprivation laws around Europe. The organisation is founded by a group of European based Muslims including doctors, lawyers, aid-workers and home-makers. We are staffed by a mixture of academics, professionals, activists, campaigners and students from diverse backgrounds who believe that everyone is entitled to a fair treatment regardless of background and religious beliefs.

Right2Return is striving for a world free of injustice, poverty and oppression. We campaign against discriminatory state policies and advocate for due process and the rule of law. We believe in the basic concepts of universal human dignity and the right to fair treatment in all societies. Our ethos is based on Islamic principles of justice. As such, we seek the application of principles like the presumption of innocence, the rule of law, due process, freedom from arbitrary imprisonment and torture; freedom from religious and racial discrimination; the right to privacy and freedom of movement and holding power to account.

Right2Return advocates for those wrongfully or unjustly targeted as a result of the growing securitisation. This means men, women and children from the Muslim community who have been deprived of their citizenship, and have been denied entry to their homeland, and those from the Muslim community who are stranded abroad and scared of going back to their homeland because of the pronounced racism and discrimination.

The aim of Right2Return is not only to provide a voice for these Muslims and challenge the dominant narrative of suspect communities and the perceived threat of terrorism through real life stories which are uploaded here on the website. The aim is also to provide these Muslims with aid – both legal assistance to those who have been deprived of their citizenship, and local help to those who are stranded outside their homeland. We have a wide network in Turkey and Syria, and we are able to offer mental health care, family support, education, help to restore family ties, education, and help to find housing and work. We also offer here and now aid including medicine, clothing and food supplies.

We encourage all to share their stories and to get in contact through our helpline. Please help us to help you and go to SUBMIT YOUR STORY, or give us a call or a message on TELEGRAM: right2return and MAIL: right2return@tutanota.com, and we will do our best to provide you with the aid you need. May Allah bless all Muslims and protect all brothers and sisters who are struggling. Ameen.
